Hey peeps! How’s it going? It has been a tiring journey..taking 11 hours of flight from KLIA to Auckland and then transit to Wellington..I have been so unlucky as I have been charged 16kgs ( NZD80 ) as excess baggage in Auckland International Airport while the rest of my friends who had extra didn’t get charged..It sucks being the first one to check in the luggage..They insisted on weighing my hand luggage WITH my laptop while the rest of my friends who had a heavier hand luggage got through! Arrghh..just my luck~
Going online here is extremely expensive. I managed to get a prepaid card ( NZD4= 59 mins max ) at the place that I’m currently staying (Nomads Capital). Even starbucks charges NZD10 for only 1 hour..pfftt~ Anyway, the place is fine so far. Everyday I went out to the city to walk around and to hunt for food. Gosh, everything’s so expensive here..
A little bit about Wellington.. It’s freaking windy!!! When strong gust of wind blows, you really must hold on to the street pole. Lol.. well that is if you’re really light..I still manage to stay put on the ground. As I’m currently staying at the City Center, it’s convenient to go to places with the map in your hand. Everything is within walking distance and my friends and I have pretty much explored all of the City Center. Oh yea, it’s quite chilly as well even during SUMMER – gotta wear a sweater in the late afternoons..wonder how will it be like in Autumn and Winter.. Guess that I’ll find out real soon.
One thing really good about Wellington is that, pedestrian rules!! The cars do stop for you when you are crossing the road which is awesome cause we don’t get this is Malaysia..hehe ..the people here are really friendly and nice as well..and polite~
Ah..moving on to University. Goodness it’s so tough to walk uphill to the University, the path and steps are REALLY STEEP.. I’ve got a muscle ache on my leg after 2 round trips! Probably it’s also caused by too much of walking around the city..hehe.. well I CAN use the cable car, but it’s rather costly to use it everyday..NZD1 for a single trip (student rate). So, I did my enrolment today and I have like 6 courses this year, 3 in each sem..Classes starts around 27th and right now, we’re still doing orientation.( They are having a nightlife tour on Thursday.. Yea~ lol )

Status: tired but enjoying myself so far..yea, I still miss you guys~oh..before I forget, Happy Valentine’s Day ( it’s not as commercialized here as in Malaysia )
